Advancements in Dentistry

New dental technology and hi-tech diagnostic tools are changing the way that modern dentists operate. Here are some of the ways that Dr. Azuma patients benefit from technology. We use digital x-rays to diagnose and visualize problems. This means our patients are exposed to 80-90% less radiation than conventional x-rays. We utilize intraoral imagery which allows our patients to fully visualize and appreciate their new restorations. We have been fabricating an all-ceramic crown, inlay or onlay in a single appointment using our CEREC machine since 2007. Just imagine, no impressions, no temporaries falling off, and no return visit to cement the crowns! We have been restoring some missing teeth with dental implants and crowns. The days of the Amalgam fillings are gone. We have better reinforced tooth-colored restorative materials which can enhance the strength of the natural tooth. Dental Lasers are used to help patients who suffer from chronic "cold sore" irritations, and to remove infections from beneath the gums. Here are some additional new technological advancements that we have integrated into our office:
NightLase® Therapy
We have been offering NightLase therapy at Eugene M. Azuma, DDS for over 4 years. NightLase therapy is a safe, effective way to treat sleep apnea and improve the quality of your sleep. A non-invasive procedure, this snoring and sleep apnea treatment in Honolulu will provide you with the relief you have been looking for. NightLase does not require you to wear any device while you sleep, and does not require anesthesia. Dr. Azuma uses this laser light technology to tighten the tissue that causes snoring, allowing your loved ones to get a good night’s sleep.
